Please connect with 2-1-1 for information on all Milwaukee shelter availability, assessment for permanent housing programs, and connection to a network of social services2-1-1 is also the City of Milwaukee and Milwaukee County’s central line for questions about COVID-19 to be answered and addressed with appropriate interventions, in partnership with the City of Milwaukee’s Health Department.  To ensure Milwaukee County-wide reach and access to support for the most in need and most vulnerable people who are homeless in our community, IMPACT, 2-1-1 has coordinated multiple ways to connect with 2-1-1 for assessment and referrals to homeless services:

NEW Resources for Eviction Prevention Rental Assistance due to COVID-19 Related Loss of Income

If you are a Milwaukee County resident (single adult or family) experiencing a housing crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you may be eligible for new rental assistance programs through Community Advocates or SDC .  Please click links to learn more about their services and eligibility for assistance.  If you are a family at risk of eviction, please contact Hope House to inquire about their eviction prevention program at CarePrevention@HopeHouseMKE.org .


Need street outreach assistance? The Milwaukee County Outreach Collaborative has established an outreach message line, for the community to use to leave information about those staying on the street who would benefit from street outreach assistance, accessible by calling (414) 263-0989.  This is a line for the community to contact the outreach collaborative in instances when they connect with individuals staying on the street, who are in need of permanent housing, support, and other area resources.  When calling the line, please indicate all of the following:  date and time of day, location, brief physical description of the individual(s), any contact information you may have for the individual(s) you’re calling about.

Resources for Domestic Violence
Due to immediate safety needs, local domestic violence/victim services agencies and shelters operate 24/7 hotlines operated by trained victim advocate staff able to provide callers with information and referrals to local victim services.  Staff of hotlines will also refer victims of domestic violence to emergency shelters in Milwaukee and other communities:

Services for Human Trafficking Victims or those in the Sex Trade
The Benedict Center has a street outreach team that can be contacted to dispatch staff to a location in the community where human trafficking or street-based sex work occurs.

Services for Unaccompanied and Runaway Youth Under Age 18
Due to immediate safety needs and need for age-appropriate interventions, youth service and emergency shelter providers operate 24/7 hotlines targeted to serve community youth under age 18 who are experiencing housing insecurity or homelessness. Pathfinders and Walker’s Point Youth & Family Center both offer emergency shelter for homeless, unaccompanied or runaway youth under age 18.

  • Pathfinders 24/7 Hotline: (414) 271-1560, or those without minutes on their cell phones can call 1(866) 212-SAFE (7233) for free.
    Pathfinders also operates a drop-in center that offers supportive services and basic needs assistance to youth ages 18-25 at 4200 N. Holton Street. Community members can contact the drop-in center at (414) 964-2565.
